Numbtongue is an avant-garde pop outfit with twinges of soul, psych rock, grunge & funk. Self-released & self-produced albums “Exhumation” (2017) & “Phantom Limbs” (2022) have seen what began as a side project of Bobby Hatfield find its footing both in solo and full band iterations. With an ever-evolving lineup of live musicians, the songs become what they must. The band is at once frenetic yet precise, in a broader canvas of dynamics than its lo-fi source material. Yet it never sacrifices the intimacy of the solo performance. Neither is meant to transcend the other as much as clarify in foil.
